Who is covered by the Copywriter Code?
When the Code is launched, it will apply to all Pro+ members of ProCopywriters.
Anyone can read and follow The Copywriter Code's principles — it's freely available. However, only Pro+ members of ProCopywriters can officially subscribe to it, display the badge and be listed as subscribing members.
Does it apply to freelancers and employed copywriters?
Yes. The Code applies to all working contexts — freelance, agency, in-house and employed. The Code of Practice has two parts: Part 1 covers core standards for everyone, and Part 2 covers additional requirements specific to independent practitioners (freelancers, contractors and agencies). If you're employed, Part 2 won't apply to you.
What do I need to qualify for Pro+?
You'll need to meet four requirements: at least two years of professional copywriting experience, a commitment to The Copywriter Code, 20 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) per year, and professional indemnity insurance (if you're self-employed).
